Roseanne ist eine von Matt Williams entwickelte Sitcom, die erstmals am 18. Oktober 1988 auf dem amerikanischen TV-Sender ABC veröffentlicht wurde. Im März 2018 wurde die Serie fortgesetzt. Aufgrund der politischen Äußerungen von Hauptdarstellerin Roseanne Barr wurde die Serie jedoch nicht weiter verlängert sondern in die neue Serie Die Conners überführt.
Im Fokus der Serie steht die mittelständische anfangs 5-köpfige Famile Conner, die in Lanford lebt. Nahezu alle Handlungen drehen sich um das alltägliche Leben und behandeln Themen, wie Geldsorgen, Arbeitslosigkeit, das Liebesleben oder die Kindererziehung.
